    Itinerary

    Day 1 : Fly to Antananarivo

    Upon your arrival in Madagascar, you will meet “MADAGASCAR WITH US (MWU)” staff at the airport and get transferred to your hotel 3 Metis (or similar). Get settled (and some rest), and let the journey start …

    Day 1: Fly to Antananarivo

    Day 2: To Antsirabe via Ambatolampy (Four-hour drive)

    Day 3: To Ranomafana via Ambositra (Seven-hour drive)

    Day 5: To Fianarantsoa (Two-and-a-half-hour drive)

    Day 6: To Ranohira via Ambalavao (Six-hour drive)

    Day 2 : To Antsirabe via Ambatolampy (Four-hour drive)

    After breakfast at the hotel, we will head down south to Antsirabe. However, we will stop halfway in Ambatolampy to watch artisans at work in an aluminum pot workshop. Later in the afternoon, we will visit the town of Antsirabe, a city known for its thermal spring, its skilled artisans and its local rickshaws (the “pousse-pousse”). Overnight stay in Antsirabe at the hotel Royal Palace (or similar).

    Day 3: To Ranomafana via Ambositra (Seven-hour drive)

    We will leave Antsirabe early in the morning for Ambositra to visit a Zafimaniry Art Workshop. You will learn more about the Zafimaniry culture, its woodcarvings and other art crafts. We will continue to Ranomafana and stay there for two nights at Setam Lodge (or similar).

    Day 4: Stay in Ranomafana

    In the morning, we will hike at the Ranomafana National Park and will experience life in the rainforest of Madagascar. You will meet your wildlife guide to help you spot birds, lemurs and other animals – endemic to Madagascar. After lunch, we will visit the town of Ranomafana and swim at the thermal bath. Later in the evening, you will have the opportunity to do a night walk in order to spot the smallest lemur of Madagascar.

    Day 5: To Fianarantsoa (Two-and-a-half-hour drive)

    We will leave Ranomafana and drive further south for Fianarantsoa. We will stop halfway to witness a “Savika,” a traditional zebu rodeo and discover more of the Betsileo culture. Further down the road, you will also have the opportunity to visit the Sahambavy Tea Plantation and even to paddle a pirogue on the Matsiatra River. Overnight stay in Fianarantsoa at Cotsoyannis Hotel (or similar).

    Day 6: To Ranohira via Ambalavao (Six-hour drive)

    In the morning, we will continue our discovery of the Betsileo culture by visiting a local wine cellar and the Betsileo wine production. Then we will leave Fianarantsoa for Ranohira. We will stop halfway in Ambalavao to witness the production of traditional Antemoro paper. Finally, we will stop to visit the Anja Reserve – home of the ring-tailed lemurs or Maki. We will stay two nights in Ranohira at Isalo Rock Lodge (or similar).

    Day 7: Isalo National Park

    Have an early breakfast and get ready to hike in one of the best national parks of Madagascar. Discover the amazing park’s canyons and swim in its natural pools. Have a picnic lunch in this splendid place.

    Day 8: To Ifaty via Tulear (Six-hour drive)

    We will leave Ranohira for Tulear. Short stop in Tulear to visit the city and then we will head to Ifaty beach and the Great Reef – known to be the fifth-largest coral reef in the world. Stay for two nights at Ifaty at the Hotel Solidaire Mangily (or similar).

    Day 9: Ifaty

    Day at leisure. Snorkeling can be done by pirogue at Ifaty. You also have the option to visit the spiny desert at the Reniala Nature Reserve, visit the “Village Des Tortues”, or just relax at the beach.

    Day 10: Fly back to Antananarivo via Tulear

    Early in the morning, get transfer to Tulear and fly back to Antananarivo. You will meet MWU staff at the airport and will be transferred to your hotel 3 Metis.

    Day 11 : Fly back home

    For your last morning in Madagascar, we will stop at a craft market for you to buy souvenirs. Later on that day, you will be transferred to the airport and fly back home.
